Obituary:  John Melvin Robinson, 68, Freedom resident for many years but who was building a home in Bedford, died  Tuesday, Nov. 14, 1972  at 2:40 a.m. at the home of his son, Bruce, in Bedford of natural causes.  He had been ill for some time.
       Funeral services were conducted Thursday at 1 p.m. in the Freedom Ward Chapel, with Bp. Dee J. Hokanson in charge.  Burial was in the Freedom Cemetery.
       He was born Oct 12, 1904 at Freedom, Idaho to John Peart and Rosa Luthi Robinson. His mother died when he was 12 years old.  He attended elementary schools at freedom and two years of high school at Preston, Idaho.
       He married Leone Augusta Erickson Oct 10, 1929 in the Logan Temple.           He worked in the Freedom State Bank until it merged with the bank in Afton.  He served as Caribou County (Idaho) Deputy Sherriff, and worked for the Caribou National Forest for many years.  He also worked at farming and was a skilled carpenter and was a beaver trapper for the Idaho Game and fish Department.
       He was active in the LDS Church all his life, serving as counselor in the YMMIA, basketball coach at Freedom for seven years, a president in the 179th Quorum of Seventy, two years as a stake missionary, genealogy teacher, MIA dance director, bishopric counselor and ward teacher.  He held the office of High Priest.
       He is survived by his wife, Leone; sons, daughters, Mrs. Burwin (Verlene) Miles, Afton, Wyo.; John Melvin, Soda Springs, Idaho; Renn, Merrill, Mrs. Doyle (Rose) Jensen, Mrrs. Michael (Augusta) Bailey, and Clint, all Salt Lake City;  Bruce, Bedford, Wyo.; and Mrs. Harvey R. (Mary Lue) Jensen, Colorado Springs;  Also surviving are 37 grandchildren and the following brothers and sisters:  O. Dewain, Preston, Idaho; Mrs. Eldon (Merelda) Gough, Kim, both Salmon, Idaho; Merle G., Freedom; Mrs. Park (Helen) Gough, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Paul (Susa) Erickson, Idaho Falls,; Frank N., Layton, Utah.
      Funeral Thursday, 1 p.m., Freedom Ward Chapel, where friends call :30 p.m.  Burial, Freedom Cemetery.

Obituary, Star Valley Independent, March 28, 1996:  Leone Augusta Erickson Robinson, 86, died March 13, 1996 at her daughter, Rose's home in Provo, UT.  Funeral services were held on Saturday, March 16, 1996 at the Edgemont 2nd Ward LDS Chapel, Provo.  Additional services were held on Monday, March 18, 1996 at the Bedford, Wyoming LDS chapel with interment in the Freedom Cemetery.
       She was born on Aug. 13, 1909 in Glen, ID, the daughter of Robert August and Mary Luella Edwards Erickson.  She married John Melvin Robinson on Oct. 10, 1929 in the Logan LDS Temple.  He preceded her in death on Nov. 14, 1972.
       Leone was the third child of Robert and Luella Erickson.  At the age of 13, she dropped out of school to take care of her family and invalid mother.  She graduated from high school in 1957.  Leone and her husband, Melvin, were blessed with 10 children.
       She held numerous leadership positions in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  She served a mission to the Portland, Oregon Mission in 1977.
       Her occupation was mother and grandmother.  Her business was the family.  She helped financially by driving school bus, cooking at school, skinning beavers and working at the Star Valley Creamery.
       She is survived by her five sons and three daughters:  John Robinson of Tohatchie, NM; Renn Robinson of Murray, UT; Bruce Robinson of Bedford; Rose Jensen of Provo; Audrey Westrop of Pincher Creek, Canada; Mary Lue Jensen of Logandale, NV; Merrill Robinson of Los Lunas, NM; Clint Robinson of Stevensville, MT; Augusta Dimmick of Safford, AZ; 54 grandchildren and 97 great grandchildren; two brothers, Milton Erickson, Afton and Morris Erickson of Sun City, FL.
       She was preceded in death by her husband, a son, Lynn Robinson, a daughter, Verlene Miles; two grandsons; two granddaughters; two great granddaughters; her parents; two brothers, Warren and Edgar Erickson; a sister, Norma Reeves.
