Obituary, Star Valley Independent, October 7, 1976:  Merle G. "Swede" Robinson, 67, Freedom rancher, died September 29, 1976 at his home in Freedom following a long illness.
       Funeral services were held Saturday, October 2 at 1 p.m. in the Freedom Ward LDS Chapel, with Counselor Cordell Luthi conducting.  Burial was in the Freedom Cemetery.
       He was born September 3, 1909 at Freedom, Wyoming to John Peart and Rosa Luthi Robinson.  He lived in Freedom all his life and attended schools in Freedom, Etna and in Preston, Idaho.
       As a young man he worked on ranches, as a freighter and in the Freedom Creamery.  He owned ranches in Freedom, Etna and McCoy Creek and raised fine Hereford cattle, horses and cattle dogs.  He was a skilled veterinarian.
       He was active in athletics and was chosen All-Star basketball guard for Star Valley and Cache Valley M-Men basketball teams when a young man.
       He was married July 7, 1934 to Clara Elena Wolfley at Idaho Falls, Idaho.
       He was active in the LDS Church, and served as president of his Elders Quorum, as project leader for the building addition to the Freedom Ward Church, and as a ward teacher.
       He was elected and served as a board member and as president of the Star Valley Swiss Cheese Company.
       He is survived by his wife, Clara, Freedom; sons and daughters, Mrs. Raymond (Roselena) Sanders, Richmond, Utah; J. P. Robinson and Nick W. Robinson, Freedom; Mrs. Kent (Cally) Nebeker, Willard, Utah; nine grandchildren and the following brothers and sisters:  Dewain Robinson, Preston, Idaho; Mrs. Eldon (Merelda) Gough, Salmon, Idaho; Mrs Park (Helen) Gough, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Paul (Susa Dot) Erickson, Idaho, Falls; Frank Robinson, Etna, Wyoming; and Kim Robinson, Salmon, Idaho.

Obituary, Star Valley Independent:  Nick W. Robinson, 33, of Freedom was killed January 18, 1980 in an automobile accident.  Funeral services were held Monday, Jan. 21 at 11 a.m. in the Freedom LDS Ward Chapel with bishop's counselor, Kelly Rainey officiating prior to interment in the Freedom Cemetery.
       Nick was born on May 4, 1946 to Merle G. (Swede) and Clara Elena Wolfley Robinson at Afton.  While still a young man, Nick was noted as a talented speaker and was awarded a prize in the MIA program of the LDS Church for his talent.  In high school he was active in sports and was an outstanding artist.
       He enjoyed the rodeo and riding and training horses.  He broke his left leg twice while riding in the bull competition.  He spent considerable time in Ohio working with racehorses.  He later worked with his father raising both beef and dairy cattle.
       He served in the Wyoming National Guard from 1965 until 1971.  He spent several years as a professional hunting guide and enjoyed fishing Jackson Lake.
       Nick married Janene Thompson on September 15, 1973 to which union three children were bsorn.
       Survivors include his wife Janene and three children, Heath Swede Chanda Lea, and Duke Nick, of Freedom; mother, Clara Elena Robinson, Freedom; brothers and sisters, Mrs. Raymond (Roselena) Sanders, Richmond, Utah; J.P. Robinson, Freedom; mrs. Kent (Cally) Nebeker, Willard, Utah.
       He was preceded in death by his father.
