                   Richard Hynton, or Hinton [note he dropped the ...de...], of Kingston Lisle, County of Berks, purchased an estate known as ...Eagle's Hall..., County Berks, and was the first Hynton to use the eagle's leg and serpent for a crest. He married Margaret Dickson, daughter of Thomas Dickson, and died before 1520. Margaret died in 1527. Will recorded at Canterbury that year. Richard was indebted to Cardinal Wolsey for the advancement of some money as appears from an entry in the Rent Roll Book of the functionary.

                   John Hinton, who besides Eagle's Hall had property in the Parish of Stanewyck, Berks. He married Jane or Joan Francklin, daughter of Thomas Francklin, of Bynall in Wiltshire, and niece of William Francklyn, D.D. (b. 1480 d. 1556). President of Queen's College, Cambridge; Chancellor Diocese of Durham 1514; Archdeacon of Durham 1515; Prebendary (a clergyman entitled to a stipend for special services to a cathedral or collegiate church) of Heydourcum Walton, Diocese of Lincoln 1522; Prebendary Stillington York 1526; Commissioner to treaty for peace with James V of Scotland 1528; appointed Dean [head of a chapter at a cathedral or collegiate church; a chapter is a group of clergymen] of Windsor 17 December 1536. As Dean of Windsor he christened Edward VI and officiated at the funeral of Lady Jane (Gray) Dudley. He was Master of St. Giles Hospital at Keypen Durham and Rector of Chalfont St. Giles Bucks, in which place he died January 5, 1556. [Stephens' Dic. Nat. Bio. Vol. XX, p. 197-98]. John Hinton died in 1547. Will probated in 1550 They had issue:Thomas,Richard, b. 1510, who married 1st 1531, Jane, daughter and co-heiress [as to Manor of Bournton, Parish of Shrivenham, Co. Berks] of John Goddard of Oxenham, Co. Wilts. Richard d. 1555, will recorded at Cantebury 1555 Jane d. 1559, will probated 1559. Had issue.Phillippa, m. 31 May 1533, Robert Noyes of Heatherdeane, Co.
