                   George Moye served as Sheriff of Pitt Co., N.C. He and his sons, as well as his brother John and his sons, were active in the Pitt Association that composed a petition to the King of England prior to the Revolution. Moye was also a memberr of the Pitt Safety Committee. Revolutionary Army accounts show a settlement with Goerge Moye being 122 pounds, 5 shillings
