Marine Corp during the Civil War on the Battleship Pensacola.  Fought in the battle of Bull Run and New Orleans, and received a medical discharge.  (1861-1863)

Charles Eaton, brother of Eliza, served in the Union Army during the Civil War, Company D, 112th Illinois Infantry from 1862-1865.  He fought in the battles of the East Tennessee Raid, Knoxville, Resaca, Atlanta, Frankl.in, Nashville and Wilmington.  He was mustered out in Greensboro, North Caroline in June of 1865.
