VANALSTINE WAS CLARINDAN
       Mrs. Bertha VanAlstine, 90, of Clarinda died Sunday evening at Goldenrod Manor.
       She was born on July 31, 1891 in Kansas, a daughter of John and Dora (York) Sollars.  She was married to Lewis VanAlstine in February, 1912
       Survivors include her children: Dale VanAlstine, Clarinda; Mrs. Max (Letha) Williamson, White Salmon, WA; Lewis VanAlstine, Dexter, IA, and Mrs. Howard (Vona) Robertson of Solon, IA.  Also surviving are eight grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren, six great-great grandchildren and two brothers, Ernest Sollars of Creston and Arthur Sollars of Gravity.
       She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers and four sisters.
       Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday at the Walker-Merrick Funeral Home in Clarinda.  Burial will be at the Clarinda Cemetery.
