Mr. Micagy Swiger died of General debility, after a brief illness,
February 9th, 1886, aged 63 years 9 months and 15 days.
       Mr. Swiger was born in Muskingum County, Ohio and moved to Peoria County, Illinois in 1841.  He lived near Neponset for some time and for the last six years at his present home in Penn Township, Stark County.  He was married twice, having one son, now living, by his first marriage.  His second marriage was with Elizabeth Sturm.  Eleven children were born to them, four having died, leaving a widow and eight children to mourn their loss.  In former years he had been a member of church, but for some years past has not affiliated with any church.  He has been a very weakly man for years, and has endured a great physical  suffering at times.  He was an excellent provider for his family, a successful farmer and a good manager;  and has left a valuable property for his family.
       The funeral services were held on Friday the 12 inst. at the Valley M.P. Church by Rev. Mr. Jordan, which were attended by a large gathering of sympathizing friends and neighbors,  and the body was laid in a cemetery nearby.
