Letter from H. Leon Ivie, 635 Patterson, Ogden, Utah. "This Anna Robinson was the wife of grandson of Anderson as you can see on your sheet - not Anderson's wife. Correct this whenever you see it. In fact Anderson is wrong - it should be Jessie who married Sarah Anderson the origin of the name Anderson and John Anderson - 1775 should be David Anderson Ivie - 1774. I've examined over 3 dozen signatures and original enteries of this John Anderson -1775 and never once found the name John - John was a presumption made by the Berkeley Author and instituted in the records after 1927. To save tiem, enclosed is a sheet notes # 2 - 10 Oct 1961. Will be making another sheet soon. Since I've made a "big fine" in Jasper Co. GA. (formerly Randolph Co.) Deeds - Ashberry Ivey - 1799 "Big Berry." Anderson Ivey - 1804 {Our John A. Ivie's 1st appearance of "Anderson" (Todate the one and only given name) Littleberry Ivey - 1812 son of "Big Berry" above. Reference to Jessie's will - 1834 Sussex Va, the 3 only Ivey's mentioned makes this an undisputable tie into Jessie's line. Our John Anderson is David Anderson Ivey brother of Jarrett Ashberry "Big Berry" Ivey and uncle of Littleberry Ivey. - Jessies will - 1834. Jessie married Sarah Anderson - the origin of Anderson as a given name. I have a certified letter as to this marriage - the date is 1787 which I hope to prove was miss - read from 1767 or a confirmation marriage" - However Jarrett Ashberry Ivey was older than our Anderson & three sisters are also known. Ashberry could be marriage # 1 and Anderson # 2 a widow -in that case we are not Ivie at all only by adoption. Does this confuse you enough. Jessies father Hugh probably joined the Loyalists in Georgia and Jessie's middle name was Hugh. Tradition says 2 grandsons of Jessie joined the British Army and deserted - presumably some of Hush's sons were on each side - "Loyalists" and underground "Rebels" much like Republican and Democrates today. As the Rev. War came on they moved out on the frontier. I've read where six or more English Merchant Ships were sank in trade with "Georgia's Loyalists. "The fact the counties mentioned in our records is about the area. Franklin on the Savannah River and inland Randolph Co. now called Jasper Co. 6th County from Franklin. I would appreciate any help I coud get on this or other phases. Respectfully - H. Leon Ivie
