RESEARCH NOTE:  Families derived from extracted christening records.  Henry is listed as having children christened in both the Lythe and Egton parishes.  Most of the early children are christened in Lythe, while the later are christened in Egton.  Jacob is the exception, he is christened in Lythe, while the siblings both immediately older and younger are christened in Egton.  The two parishes are only about 5 miles apart.  Will included in notes.

In the name of God Amen.  The Twenty fourth day of April in the year of our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred and Seventy five.  I Henry Topliff of Dunbogs in the Parish of Lythe being infirm in body but of perfect mind and memory thanks be given to Almighty god for the same and calling to mind the mortality of my body and knowing it is appointed for all men once to die do make and ordain this my last will and testament in the following manner and form -------------
Imprimis I give and bequeath to my loving son Jacob Topliff the sum of fifteen pounds of lawfull money to be raised and levied out of my personal estate ------
Item I give and bequeath to my son in law George Stonehouse the sum of Twenty Pounds of lawfull money to be raisd and levivied out of my personal estate --------
Item I give and bequeath to my son in law Nathaniel Jefferson the sum of Twenty Pounds to be raisd and levied out of my personal estate ---------
Item I give and bequeath to my loving Daughter Catherine Topliff the sum of Twenty Pounds to be raisd and levied out of my personal estate ------------------
Item I give and bequeath to my son in law Thomas Fletcher the sum of Ten pounds to be raisd and levied out of my personal estate ----------------
Item I give and bequeath to my son in law Philip Hoggart all and singular my Utensils of Husbandry geer to his own proper use and behoof ------------------
Item I give and bequeath to my loving Daughter Hannah Thomson all and singular the Residue of my personal estate and Effects: whom I likewise nominate constitute and appoint my only and sole executrix of this my last will and testament Revoking and Disannulling all other former Wills or bequests by me in any wise nominated willed or bequeathed Ratifying and confirming this and no other to be my Last will and testament in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the Day and year first  above written ------

KNOW ALL MEN, by these presents, that We
Hannah Thomson Widow of the Parish of Lyth in the County of York Widow and Philip Hoggart of the same Parish Farmer  do stand and are firmly bounden and obliged unto the Worshipful PETER JOHNSON,   Master of Arts, Commissary of the Exchequer Court of the most Reverend Father in God ROBERT, by Divine Providence Lord Arch-Bishop of York, Primate of England and Metropolitan lawfully constituted, in the Sum of Two hundred Pounds of good and lawful Money of Great - Britain to be paid to the said Commissary or his true and lawful Attorney, Executors, Administrators or Assigns, to the which Payment well and truly to be made.  We bind us and each of us, jointly and severally, for and in the whole, our and each of our Heirs, Executors and Administrators, and every of them firmly by these Presents, Sealed with our Seals.  Dated the ninth day of the month of December  in the Year of our Lord One Thousand, Seven Hundred, and Seventy five.   

THE CONDITION OF THIS OBLIGATION IS SUCH, THAT IF 
the above mentioned Hannah Thompson, Daughter, residual Legatee, and sole Executrix, named in the last Will and Testament of Henry Topliff late of Dunbogs in the Parish of Lyth aforesaid in the Diocese of York, Farmer, deceased do well and truly execute and perform the said last will and testament of the said deceased And do pay his Debts and Legacies so far as his Goods will Extend and Law shall bind her if also she do Exhibit into the Exchequer Court at York, a true and perfect Inventory of all and singular the Goods Rights, Credits, Cattles, and Chattles of the said deceased, and do make a true and just Accompt of the same when she shall be thereunto lawfully called.  And moreover, if need require enter into further Bond, with more sufficient Sureties for the Performance of the Premisses as the Judge of the said court, for the Time being shall think requisite and Needful. And lastly. do save, defend, and harmless keep the above named Judge, and all his Officers, and Ministers, against all Persons by reason of the Premisses.  Then this present Obligation to be void, and of none Effect or else to remain in full Force and Virtue.
