Jose Ramon Bojorquez (or Borjorques) and family: Reference: Notes
and list from Bea Polloreno.

Jose Ramon's birthdate: 1737. Marie Northrop has about 1732. -- From
B.P.'s notes.

The following came with De Anza to found San Francisco in 1775/76:
Ramon Bojorquez and wife Maria Francisca Rovero (or Romero)
    Children: Maria Gertrudes, Maria Micaela
Apparently, daughters Maria Ana (or Antonia) and Maria Micaela married
along the way (to Jose Tiburcio Vasquez & Ygnacio Higuera, resp.)

BOJORQUEZ:
The name originates in the valley of Runanzara, district of Trasmiera,
Santander, Spain, where an early manor is thought to have existed.
"Diccionario Nobiliario" by Julio de Atienza, 1959, Madrid. Also
"Encyclopedia Heraldica y Genealogica Hispano Americana" by Garcia
Caraffa, Madrid, 1924. Is this name Visigothic in origin? It is
similar to Teutonic Bjork and Borges of Scandinavia. The Goths
settled heavily in northern Spain; Asturias borders on Santander to
the west. Or is the name Basque?
-- Quoted from Spanish-American Genealogical Helper, p.39.
