                   William Fandre, father of Wilhelmina (Minnie) Fandre, was born
in Germany, according to Minnie's death certificate.  Possibly
he died in Chicago (See notes under "Russo").

    The IGI list the name as Augusta Rassow.  Family records state "Nobody knows her first name", the wife of William Fandre.   Spelling of the name Russo is uncertain; Russo is an Italian name. There is a picture of her with granddaughter Gussie Welzin outside their store in Chicago.

    Came to the United States aboard the ship "Leipzig P." which sailed from Bremen,Germany & arrived in Baltimore,Maryland on 24 May 1872.


Wilhelmina Fandre:  Birth and death dates from death certificate.
Minnie immigrated to the US in 1871 from Germany.  Her parents
were both born in Germany, and she was of French Huguenot descent.
She is buried in the Olivenhain Colony Cemetery.
The Huguenots were Protestants who were driven out of Catholic
France in the 1600's and 1700's by King Louis XIV.
Minnie came from Germany to America when she was 14 years old.
