Joshua LOUNSBERRY

                   His second marriage was to Martha (unknown surname) and she died 14 Jan 1813, aged 88.  Between 1759 and 1774 he removed to North Castle.  His will was dated 28 May 1787 and proved 12 Dec 1787, mentioned Hannah SMITH, Sarah BROWN, Lydia SUTHERLAND, Joshua Jr., and the latter's son, Silas, and Martha and Mary Ann SUTHERLAND, his grandaughters.  His legal representatives named in the distribution of his brother's (Jonathan) estate in 1791 were: Joshua Lounsbery, Hannah Smith and Lydia Sutherland.  his son Joshua Jr., served in the Revolutionary War.  His first wife, Hannah Scofield, was probably the mother of his children, Hannah, Sarah, Lydia, Joshua and Martha.

On 11 May 1754 (Stamford, CT deed F:115) Joshua Lounsberry conveyed to Nathaniel HUBBARD et al "part of right of my grandfather Edmund Lockwood, dec'd...and descended to his son, John, deceased, and by him to my mother Sarah Lounsberry"...  (Joshua here is slightly confused in that Edmund Lockwood's son John predecased his father, but Stamford common land rights of both Edmund and John Lockwood descended to Edmund's children, including Sarah Lockwood Lounsberry, Joshua's mother.)
