Letter from Margaret Jeanne (Lynch) Ponton to Lori Eileen (Peters) Lopez dated Jun 2003:

Dear Lori,

Sorry - I don't know birth dates (years) for most of the kids. I know the first 3 were born before we married in '48. Thanks for sending all the info Addresses of Dot's kids: (see original letter). Maybe one of the kids can provide more info about birth dates and their families and their kids' families. Probably one of the girls or all of them would be your best bet They all have grandkids. All the info about mom's (Emma Peters Lynch) background is mind boggeling I knew there was the name Appleton in Grandad's family, but all the rest I never heard of Germany, Britian, France - WOW I knew Grandma had a German background - even spoke a little German - taught me to cout to ten in German and "Garect you shanty bou" meaning "go away you dirty boy" I wonder why she thought I should know that one? She was a sweet person and a good cook - I remember her canning and making sauerkrut in a crock in the celler - she always weighted the cabbage down with an iron or something heavy. I remember helping her iron with an iron heated on the stove and also spent hours rolling carpet rags into balls for use on her loom to make rugs - they were so nice. Grandad Peters used to slip me money and say, "Don't tell Dottie" We kids all used to rolldown the bank in Grandad's yard Such fun Good memories. Sorry to have been so long writing to you. Today I said, "This is the day" - so there is the info I know now. Maybe more will surface later. Did your Aunt Barb send you a list of the Peters' family - 12 kids? I have it somewhere, so can send a copy if you don't have it. I have a computer, but not on line and the ink cartridge is dry Take Care Love, Jeanne
