This 1850 John would have then been born in 1842-43, which is the right year to be this John LUTZ.

Individual found on the 1880 Lancaster Twp, census as John Lutz, age 37, Occupation: Head Laborer, wife, Emily, age 37, son-Joseph, age 19, son-James Wesley age 9, daughter Sarah Louise, age 7.

Also, as of the 1880 census he was living four households away from Joseph and Lydia Lutz.

In the 1892 will of Margaret Ruby, one of the expeditures was a payment of $3.00 to John Lutz for digging the grave.

Individual found on the 1900 Lancaster Twp, census as John Lutz, b. Nov 1843, age 56, Day Laborer with wife Emily, b. Mar 1843, age 57, married 36 years, both born in PA with 5 children/3 living.   If married for 36 years in 1900, that would make marriage year 1864 - oldest child known was born in 1861.

Individual obituary found in the Butler Citizen dated Thursday, March 2, 1905:
"John Lutz of Middle Lancaster was found dead of apoplexy by his returning from a neighbors house Thursday morning 16th. He was buired in the Lutheran cemetery there on Sunday afternoon.  he had lived all his life in or near Middle Lancaster.  Age 61 years."
(John would have been 62 in November of 1905 had he lived)

At the time of the 1910 Beaver Co, PA census: ED 0026 Visit 0017, Emily H. Lutz, age 67, was living with her daugther Sarah Louise (Lutz) Sandoe and son-in-law, John Wesley Sandoe.

Individual found through Scott and Kris Taggart, descendants of Mary Margaret (Ruby) Taggart with whom Margaret Ruby (b. about 1804-Maryland) lived as a widow.  Mary Margaret (Ruby) Taggart was the executor of Margaret Ruby's will.   Scott and Kris Taggart are in possession of William & Margaret Ruby's family bible, which states, contrary to the 1850 Census, that Emily H. Ruby and Robert Ruby were NOT twins.  She is listed as:  Emely H. Ruby, b. 1 Mar 1843, "our granddaughter that we raised."   The parents of Emely H. Ruby were not identified in the bible.  The only child of William and Margaret Ruby who would have been old enough would have been 14 year old daughter Henrietta.  After William's death, Emily, in fact, went to live with Henrietta (Ruby) who married a cousin, James Ruby, and Emily is recorded in Henrietta's family bible as well, not as a child, just as an additional name.

                   Individual found in correspondence dated 8 Nov 2002 received from the Zion Lutheran Church, 557 Perry Highway, Harmony, PA 16037 as joining the church along with his parents, John & Emily and brother, Joseph W., on April 8, 1882.  Emmanuel and Joseph were confirmed on that day.  Sarah L. Lutz was confirmed a member on June 13, 1886.

Found an Emmanuel Lutz, age 13, on the 1880 Census as the son of W.H. Lutz and Catherine Lutz. Lancaster, Butler, PA / FHL FIlm: 1255109 / NA Film No.: T9-1109 / Pg No.: 311-A.  Age 13 in 1880 would put his birth year at 1866-67.

HOWEVER, on the 1900 census for John and Emily Lutz, they reported having had five children total and that as of 1900 only three were living. We know Sarah Louise Lutz Sandoe was living and at the time of Emily (Ruby) Lutz' death in 1921 that her death certificate was witnessed by family member "J.W. Lutz" which could either be Joseph W. or James W. Lutz.   We are not positive if Emmanuel was their other living child.

There is an Emmanuel Lutz buried at Grace Cemetery who died in 1916.  There could be a family connection between the W.H. Lutz and Catherine Lutz mentioned above, perhaps he was their child but by 1882 was living with relatives John and Emily Lutz  when he was baptized at Zion.  We could order a copy of the 1916 death certificate to confirm the parents of the Emmanuel at Grace Cemetery, but we need an exact date of death.
