In his will filed at the Butler County Courthouse 25 Jan 1897 left his estate to his granddaughter, Sarah Hare, wife of George noting that he was living with Sarah and George. He appointed Jacob Katenbuch as sole executor.

He is believed to be the son of William Ruby, Sr., and is apparently mentioned in his will in 1863.
