Darryl noted that after Andrew's death, Mary is said to have married a Mr. Downey.  In 1842 Nimrod Derrick petitioned for guardianship of Andrew and Mary's minor children, Harriett, Harmon and Lavina.  Hamilton was not mentioned in the petition.

John Rowls, a farmer with real estate valued at $1000 and personal property valued at $1265

He was a Civil War Veteran.  He was member of Company F. 58 Regiment Pennsylvania Volunteers.  He also paid taxes in the newly formed Greenwood Township about 1875.  He was elected school director for three years.

".... Mr. Rowles was an honest, industrious man, kind of heart and liberal in his views, and was held in the highest esteem by all who knew him and especially those who knew him best.  He took an active interest in everything which tended to better the community, and viewed the shortcomings of others with the greatest charity.  He was a member of Company F., 58th Regiment, Pennsylvania Volunteers, and his fellow soldiers acted as pall-bearers...."
