CHARLES R. WAPLE - Another Spanish-American War veteran passed on here on May 22 at noon when Charles R. Waple died at his home on Spruce Street following a short illness.  Mr. Waple was born at Salem, Boggs Township, on April 24, 1850, and was 84 years and 29 days of age at the time of his death.  Until a few years ago when he retired and moved to Clearfield, Mr. Waple followed his chosen occupation, tilling the soil.  His first wife, Ellen Peters Waple, having died several years ago, Mr. Waple was married again on November 12, 1893 to Ella F. Warren, who survives along with the following children, Raymong of Akron, Ohio, Patrick of Bigler, Mrs. Edna Haines of Clearfield, Mrs. Edith Parks of Bigler, and John at home.  Also the following children of his first marriage survive:  Frank of Clearfield, Fannie Wilson of Chicago, Susie Gillman of Pittsburgh, Ada Jury of Bigler and Annie Goss of Wallaceton.  In addition there are 46 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
