HOSEA BLOOM - Olanta - Funeral services for Hosea Bloom, 82, of Olanta, who died at the Clearfield Hosptial yesterday morning at 4:15 o'clock will be held from the Mt. Zion Church Saturday, April 3, at 2:30 p.m.  Rev. Harry Jarrett, former pastor of the church, will officiate with interment in the church cemetery.  Friends may call at the Lilninger Funeral Home in Curwensville until 1 p.m. Saturday at which time the body will be taken to the church where it will lie in state until time of the services.  A son of Samuel and Jane Curry Bloom, the deceased was born in Olanta R.D. March 29, 1866 and was a retired farmer.  Surviving him is his widow, Electa, and the following children:  Mrs. Zoe Bowman, Floyd D. Bloom, both of Harrisburg; Mrs. Lewis Cathcart, Olanta; Russell, William and Ronald all of Niagara Falls, N.Y.; Mrs. Paul Larson, Canton, Ohio.  Seventeen grandchildren and 10 great grandchilden also survive.  One daughter, Ms. Violette Peterson preceded him in death.

HOSEA BLOOM - Olanta - Hosea Bloom, 82, of Olanta, died at the Clearfield Hosptial this morning at 4:15 o'clock.  Funeral arrangements had not been completed at noon today.

Individual mentioned in obituary of Eliza Curry Rowles in Clearfield Progress 26 Apr 1924, pg 5, as a brother:

MRS. JOHN A. ROWLES - Mrs. Eliza Curry Rowles, wife of John A. Rowles, died at her home in O'Shanter on Sunday, April 20, 1924.  Mrs. Rowles was born on November 2, 1850 in Pike Township and was therefore aged 73 years, 5 months and 18 days.  She was generally respected in her home community.  She is survived by her husband and the following children:  Alfred and Hile Rowles of Bloomington; Mrs. Robert Morgan and Mrs. Herman Jacobson of Glen Richey; John Rowles of Clearfield and Clair Rowles of O'Shanter.  Two sons, Lorenzo and Harvey and one daughter, Mrs. Robert Ward preceeded their mother to the grave.  She is also survived by four brothers, Welty and Daniel Curry, Amos and Hosea Bloom, and two sisters, Mrs. Jared Bloom and Mrs. Elam Bauman.  Forty-four grandchildren and eight great grandchildren also survive.  The funeral took place on April 23d at Bloomington Church, Rev. Large of the O'Shanter M.E. Church officiating.  A large concourse of sorrowing relatives and friends were present to pay their last tribute of respect to the deceased.  Interment was made at Bloomington.

                   Individual's obituary from the Clearfield Progress 17 Apr 1936, pg. 6:
Alice Bloom Kline Bauman, wife of Elam Bauman, of this place who died at her home on Gulich avenue on Wednesday morning, April 15, at 5:45 o'clock following a lingering illness, was born on May 10, 1864, making her 71 years, 11 months and five days.  She was the daughter of the late Samuel and Jane Curry Bloom.  Surviving are her husband and the following children by a former marriage:  Mrs. Eva Coutts of Johnstown, Mrs. Jane Pearson, Mrs. Gussie Rhodes, H.W. Kline and Mrs. Edith Coplin all of Windber.  Also surviving are:  two brothers, Amos Bloom of Salem, Ohio and Hosea Bloom of Olanta; a half-sister Mrs. Sue Bloom of Pittsburgh; a half-brother, Milton Bloom of Portage; eight step-children, 22 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.  Funeral services were held at the late home here last (Thursday) night at 7:30 o'clock in charge of her pastor Rev. E. Roy Hauser.  The body was taken to her former home in Windber today and burial will be made in Grandview Cemetery in Johnstown tomorrow.
