Received a copy of Pauline's obituary from Mary Kapaun Jan 2003 Pauline M. Straw - Died in Carmichael at American River Hospital on December 1, 1993 at 4:15 am after a long illness. Beloved wife of Orvis Straw, loving mother of Raymond, Charles, Kenneth and James Straw. Mother-in-law of Rosa, Shirley, Marian and Sandy. Dear grandmother of mar, Brady, Brandon, Daniel, Donald, James, Timothy and Kimberly, also stepgrandmother to Donna and Stacy, grandmother-in-law of Jan, Ranell, Robin and Nancy. Great grandmother of Crystal, Danny, Christy and Tawni. Also step great grandmother to Jeffery and Tori. She is survived by sisters, Margaret Hull of Folsom, Irma Shimmel of Florida and brothers Bob Lansberry of Arizona and Al Lansberry of Pennsylvania. Also survived by sisters-in-law Ada Groves of West Virginia, Betty Lansberry of Pennsylvania and a brother-in-law Todd Shimmel of Florida and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. A native of Pennsylvania, aged 79 years, moved to Orangevale, California in 1945 with her husband and four sons. She was a housewife who enjoyed cooking, family dinners, holidays, trips and her flower gardens. She and her husband moved to Carmichael in 1963. Family and friends are invited to attend visitation on Thursday 5-9 pm and attend funeral services Friday, December 3, 1993 at 2pm at Mount Vernons Church of the Valley, 8201 Greenback Lane, Fair Oaks, CA. The groom is an employee of the General Refractories Company at West Decatur. The happy coupel will make their home with the bride's parents for the present.
