Wesley Lansberry, who died at his home on Pine Top Farm near Woodland, Sunday afternoon, June 24th, as the result of pneumonia and complications was born at Fairview, Graham Township, in November 1870 a son of Alex Lansberry. He came to Clearfield about 1900 working for a time with local brick yards and later becoming connected with the Co-operative Stores. For several years Mr. Lansberry was located at Coalmont and Williamsburg, then returned to Clearfield to establish the draying company which he later sold. He finally turned again to farming, being employed at the County Home farm for a number of years and finally purchasing the land on which he was lliving at the time of his death. Mr. Lansberry married Mary Hamlin as a young man, she preceding him in death just 11 years ago. Later he married Gladys Dixon, who survives him, together with four small children. Clarence D. Lansberry of Clearfield, the only child by the first marriage also survives. Five brothers and two sisters are still living as follow: Hollis of Johnstown, Dorris of Warsaw, Indiana, Harry of Patton, Mrs. Estella Montieth of Emeigh and Mrs. Dorothy Smeal of Clearfield. His serene good humor and ever merry salutation made Mr. Lansberry a host of friends wherever he went. His death will mean a very great loss to all who have known him and who have profited by his friendship. He was a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, Mechanics, the Klan, and was united with Emmanuel M.E. Church of Clearfield.
