Mrs. Kayne Passes at Vananda Friday After Two Months' Illness

Vanada, Feb 23 (special) - Friends of Mrs. Maggie (Grandma) Kayne were grieved to learn of her death which occured at the home of her son, O. E. Cartwright on Friday afternoo at 2:30 o'clock after an illness of two months.  Funeral services were held the following day at the Booth undertaking parlor at 2 o'clock, and interment was made in the Forsyth cemetery.  She was 86 years of age. 

Maggie Allen was born in New York, Dec. 26, 1842.  At an early age she moved with her parents to Branch county, Michigan, where she grew to womanhood.  In 1869 she married William Cartwright, and in 1877 they moved to Panhandle, Texas, where they engaged in stock raising and farming.  Mr. Cartwright died in 1888.

In 1892 she married H. J. Kane, whoe passed away three years later.  In 1904 Mrs. Kane moved to Montana, having lived inthis state since that time. 

The deceased is survived by three children, O. E. Cartwright and Mrs. Nettie Snyder of Vananda and Mrs. W. A. Bradney of Higgins, Texas, and by a brother, Eben Allen of Vananda.  She has 21 grand children and 12 great grandchildren.
