     establish a line for a canal from Beaver, PA to Akron, OH; in 1828 purchased
     100 acres in eastern part of North Shenango Twp & farmed in the summer &
     taught school in winter from 1830 to 1837; in 1880 was a retired farmer
     living with his son, Curtis in No Shenango Twp; leading member of M.E.
     Church in Hartstown.
