Army, served with 22 NY Heavy Art., under Gen. Philip Sheridan. He received a
serious wound, piercing one cheek and coming out the other side that left a
life-long scar. In 1867, he went with his mother and brother, Luther to Iowa
and settled in Lincoln Twsp, Union Co.
