"The couple is listed in the Clackamas County, Oregon census of 1860 with their three children and William, Franciss' younger brother, who is listed as a 'laborer'.  Francis' occupation is listed as 'farmer'.
    Francis and Ann were both drowned Feburary 21, 1864 in Clackamas County, Oregon, while trying to ford the Molalla River on the way to church and to visit her family.  When the bodies were found, they were still holding hands.  He wasa farmer on the 1860 census.  They staked a donation land claim."

       Edwin married Mary L. Morris on February 22, 1881 in Clackamas County, Oregon.   They were living in Carus, Oregon in 1904."
       He is buried in the Zion Cemetery at Canby, Oregon."
