Clarinda was a Teacher in 1824 'Hewent home and began to arrange his business according to the spirit of gathering which he had. He sold his beautiful home for a low price and moved to Kirtland, Ohio.' Ancestors pg. 92 About 1836, '...she met the Prophet Joseph Smith.' 'Because of (their son) Andrew's illiness and the family's lack of means, they sold their home and moved to Missouri for the winter .' 'Three of her sons went to San Bernandino, California in 1855. Clarinda, her invalid daughter, Lydia, and her two younger sons decided to join them. Her husband stayed in Provo' 'In 1862, she returned to Utah to see her family, knowing that she did not have much time remaining. She was in Richmond, Utah, when she took sick and died, December 7, 1862.' A conversation with Richmond City on 23 April 2002 the gravesite is not known in ANY cemetery. Clarinda was a refined, educated woman who was highly skilled in the arts of fine painting, sewing, tailoring, ladies legborn hat designing, and homemaking. She was a woman of true faith and was a Bible scholar.
