    1.) Exerpts from, House Upon A Rock, by Glen Lee Greene. Page. 115-116 " Concurrently with the evangelistic mission of Brinson and Impson, whose joint efforts together with those of their coworkers touched the frontier population along the upper reaches of the Ouachita River and its tributaries in North Louisiana, Henry Humble preached along the southern expanse of that stream as the pioneer Baptist preacher in Catahoula Parish. Born in South Carolina about 1775, Humble lived in Mississippi before settling in Catahoula Parish, about 1822, some fifteen miles above Harrisonburg. On March 11, 1826, Humble John Impson and Peter W. Robert constituted the Catahoula Baptist Church with seven members, including Humble and his wife Alice, Henry Humble, Jr., Joyn Hill, Sr., Elizabeth Hawthorne, Jonathan Newman, and Ann Newman. Henry Humble, Sr. was the first pastor. He died on his way home from the association in 1829. "

Book A, 1808-1839 657C, March 20, 1829, Thomas Banks and Patterson and Philpot of the City of New Orleans, by Richard King their attorney in fact, for $1000 paid by Henry Humble, sells tract of land to Humble situated on Stockley Creek, 320 acres, the same being mortgaged to Banks, Philpot and Patterson by Jacob Heaberling and sold at Shefiff's Sale, Richard King for Philpot and Patterson, Jacob Humble for Henry Humble.
