He came to America 1727 to Philadelphia thence to German Settlement in Shenandoah Valley, Then to Loudoun County, Virginia and lastly  to Bedford County 1752 settling near Lutzville. According to Helen Shaffer Greenburg a descendant, Christian has a large family.   His first wife died at the birth of son John.
