The claim in "Visiations of Devon", that John Chichester had two daughters' Mary and Anne, by Joan Brett is evidently in error.  They were most likely his daughters by his first marriage to Margaret Beaumont, judging from his Inquistion Post Mortem, (see B19A182  page 329).
