                   I have traced my GGGGGGrandfather..BARTHOLOMEW THOMPSON .....b: May 16, 1762 .....d: August 17, 1838 Lincoln County, NC back to 1778-79 Currituck County, NC.He enlisted in the Currituck County Mailtia during the Revolutionary War (1779)He was discharged in Hillsboro, NC and remained in Mecklenburg/Lincoln Countywhere he married in 1785.He is buried at Bethaven Baptist Church Cemetery in Denver, NC.I believe he is a son of William and Mason (Maiden name Unknown) - THOMPSONI would deeply appreciate information from anyone having a ...FEMALE... ancestor from Currituck County area with a Given name of ...... MASON.I am trying to determine her Maiden-Surname.This is an especially unusual given name for a female but MASON is documented many times within Currituck County abstracts.William's will names her and a daughter as well named MASON. Michael EllisAs I have just begun to research this family, I have very little more information than I am posting here, so will appreciate anything you or any one can add to this.For instance, have you the marriage date for Bat and Mary, please, also your source for the information re Mary's parents and siblings? I am a little confused. Are you saying the children you listed are those of Luke and Margaret White? The following is an abstract of Luke White's will and he does not mention a son William Note that Michael Elles is his son-in-law.Probated March Court 1758. Sons: Vinson (land called Absalom Poiner's), Joshua (plantation and one negro). Daughters: Chrisitan White, Keziah Elles, wife of Michael Elles, Mary, wife of John Tomson. Wife and Executrix: Margaret. Witnesses: William Bray, Joseph Poyner, John Wheatley. Clerk of the Court: Wm. Mearns.Did this son, William, die before his father?
