Heinrich Weidner, etc: 6 June 1862 David N. Seitz (sic middle initial "M") enlisted, at age 20, in Co. F, 23rd Reg't, NC Troops. Present with his unit until hospitalized at Richmond, VA, 4 June 1862 with a gunshot wound of the leg received at Chickahominy river on an unspecified date. Died in hospital at Richmond on or about 8 July 1862 of his wounds. (North Carolina Troops, VII:203) page 466: David M. Seitz was killed at the battle of Malvern hill.
"Heinrich Weidner 1717 - 1792 Catharina Mull Weidner 1733 - 1804 Through Four Generations, by Anne Williams McAllister, p. 292: "Information of the children of William Jethro Whitener was compiled by Elsie Vaughan, Hindsville, AR, a great-granddaughter of William Jethro Whitener...ii. Daniel Hosea Whitener was born 2 February 1849 in NC and died 24 January 1928 in Weligman, MO. He married 27 October 1867 Mary Ann Seitz in NC."
Heinrich Weidner, etc.: 21 october 1895 Catawba Couonty, NC Deed Book 51:301 Henry G. Seitz [et al] south of the Minerva school house, conveyed land for use as a public free school site... land when no longer used to revert back to the grantors or their heirs. Registered 10 January 1896. Catawba County, NC Deed Book 37:302, 21 October 1895: Henry G. Seitz and wife Elmina conveyed to school committee of District 18, et al, for $1, 85 poles of land..south of the Kings Mountain Road..land when no longer used as a school to revert to Henry G. Seitz or his heirs. Heinrich Weidner 1717 - 1792 Catharina Mull Weidner 1733 - 1804 Through Four Generations, by Anne Williams McAllister: "15 November 1926 'Hickory Daily Record': Henry Seitz was buried at Zion Church on Saturday afternoon. Funeral services for Henry Goodman Seitz, one of the best known men in Catawba County, were held Saturday afternoon at Zion Lutheran Church, several miles south of Hickory. Mr. Seitz died on Friday after an illness of several months. He was a son of the late Darius and Rebecca (Link) Seitz, and early in life was confirmed a member of Zion Lutheran Church, where he remained a faithful and loyal member throughout his life. He devoted his attention to Agricultural Developments and was one of the leading farmers in this community. On May 1875 Mr. Seitz was united in marriage to Miss Elmina Corpening, who with five children, three sons and two daughters, survive. They are: J.M. Seitz of Texas, E.C. Seitz and H.L. Seitz of this county, Mrs. Devon Collins of Statesville, and Miss Stella Seitz, who resides at the homeplace. Eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild, also, survive." James W. I was over at Aunt Sarah [Stillwell] Whitener's last Sunday. She and [daughter] Caroline live on a farm of their own three miles from tow. Jane [widow of Marcus Whitener], who married a Mr. Gay lives 3 miles further up the river, six miles from here. Hamby is living just within the corporation [of Belton, Texas] about 3/4 miles from the Court house. They are all getting along very well." other letters the same year, discussing cousin Jake (pp. 366-369,381 letter written by J.A. Whitener, 24 July 1878, same source: [Phil M.] Seitz is teaching at $45 per month. He was a teacher and a baker. He died of chronic nephritis. Anne Williams McAllister: executed deed in January 1891 [Catawba Db 39:522] identifying them as reidents of Catawa Co. In 1896 another deed was executed [Catawba DB 551:421] identifying them as residents of Montague Co., Texas where Gammy's siblings were also residing.
