Aka John Brown or John Z. Brown. Occupation: Miner/laborer. Emigrated to the U.S. from Hamburg on or about 21 June 1905, arriving NewYork on 5 July 1905aboard the vessel PISA with his wife, Paulina, and fourchildren. He petitioned for U.S. citzenship on 24 Sept. 1906 at Trinidad, Colo. Residence was Starkville, Colo. His petition was denied on 3 Oct. 1912,reason, "It appearing Jan Ziskowski permanently removed from state." I do notknow if he acquired citizenship at a later date in Denver or not. In Denver, heworked as a handymanin a hotel or boardinghouse until his death.

NAME: True name appears to be Braun or Bruno Zyskowski but he went by the name of John Henry Brown "for easier to say". Don't know if name was legally changed. EMIGRATION: Estimated emigration date: 1891 +/- 6 months. May have resided in Ironwood, Mich. when first arrived in U.S. May have had brother Frank with him(child). Cause of death: Cancer of bowels (10 days to death from onset) Prostatitis (2 years). No autopsy performed. He had no Social Security No. and no service in the U.S. armed forces Info. on death cert. supplied by his daughter, Mrs. Faye Fairchilds of Pensacola Florida. Unable to trace Faye as of 1989.

Information obtained from interview of daughter, Wanda Brown, at Playa del Rey, Calif. on 5 Jan 1988 and court records of Las Animas county at Trinidad, Colo.
