                   Obituary:
St. George, Utah - Vera Perkins Moss, age 89, died May 3, 19992 in the Zions Health Care Complex in Hurricane, Utah of natural causes.  She was born July 8, 1902 in Overton, Nevada to Ute Vorance and Lovina Ellen Whitney Perkins.  Married Carl Lenzi Moss in 1947 in the St. George LDS Temple.  He died Jan. 1, 1989.  Mrs. Moss was the 4th child of 12.  She was raised in the Moapa Valley in Nevada.  She was a active member of the LDS Church and held many auxilary and teaching positions.  She was a highly rated and regarded school teacher.  She taught school in the Clark Co. School District, Mesa, Arizona School District and Washington Co. School District.  She was a particularly outstanding 1st. grade teacher leaning heavily to excellence in reading and basic skills.  She was an innovative teacher and made learning fun.  She was a skilled reader and story teller.  Mrs. Moss was an excellent cook and homemaker.  She supported her husband, Carl, in scouting and helped teach the astronomy merit badge.
Surviors: Daughter, Susan Ellen Hardy, Mesquite, Nevada; Stepchildren: Mrs. Marden "Loa" Brown, St. George, Utah; Mrs Cale "Ila Jane" Willis, Chandler, Arizona and Carl L. Moss JR., Des Monies, Iowa; Two brothers; G. M. Perkins, Moapa, Nevada and Kale B. Perkins, Alamo, Nevada; Two sisters: Clara Logan, Las Vegas, Nevada and Lenore Clay, Moapa, Nevada; 23 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday May 9, 1992 at 2:00 P.M. Utah time in the Spilsbury Desert Rose Memorial Chapel 58 North 100 East St. George, Utah.
Friends may call 1 hour prior to services. Interment will be in the St. George City Cemetery.
