                   Named for his uncle jesse brution, who was the only brother that sarah bruton adasmon had. jess grew up in the panhandle of Texas on a farm. he attended school at Old Rowe, Texas and later at Hedley high school in 1911. he attended seth ward jr. college, plainview Texas when he met Ona Rosser.

Jess was a lover of athletics. he played a good brand of football, and also played sandlot baseball for years.

Jess was also an admirer of nature, was interested in raising stock, especially hourses, mules and cattle. he farmed in hale county near plainview texas for a number of yrears. however, that was before the irrigations systems became popular and dry farming wasn't always that profitable. he farmed and worked for the ja Ranch in Donley, county for a few years. the JA Ranch had more than 300,000 acreas and 25, 000 head of cattle and over 400 horses.

Jess also worked as an office manager for a large cotton gin company for a number of years. In 1938 he ran for tax assessor and collector for Donley county and was elected by 65 votes. He was defeated in his re-election attempt in 1940 by the same margin. as a result of his loss, he and his family moved to culver city, California in early 1941. there he gained employment with North american aviation inc.

jess lost his right hand in a shotgun accident. he died of a heart attack.
Jess was a freemason.

                   Ona was the third of ten children and was born in a half dougout home without the services of a doctor. A terrific snowstorm was racing across the plains making it impossible to find your way across the prairie. Her father A.B. Rosser, was a prominent racher in plainview texas. he settled there in 1888 after teaching school for several years.

Her mother died 16 sept 1906 leaving her father with 10 children to raise. He, with the help of the older children sucessfully raised all of the children to majority.

Ona was energetic and eager to earn and by the time she was 18 she was the seamstress for the family. she was noted for her neatness in housekeeping a good cook and was a lover of flowers.
Ona was a member of the Eastern Star.
