Sentenced to forfeit 10 days pay, August 21, 1861; sentenced to work 10 days in the trenches without pay and to forfeit 25 days pay, September 24, 1861; confined in guardhouse 10 days with a ball & chain, and to forfeit 15 days pay, October 10, 1861; on furlough for illness, December 1861; on December 23, 1861 his wife, Sarah A. Genet, wrote to Colonel Warren, "my husband is an intemperate man, and when drinking can place no reliance upon what he says....;" returned to Regiment; sick at General Hospital, Frederick, MD, September 1862; detailed as nurse, October, 1862; discharged for chronic diarrhea at Frederick, MD, November 17, 1862.



Pension Record: Discharged November 25, 1862. Enlisted at Ft. Schuyler, New York, May 8, 1861.
