Charles Ernst Christian MUSIG, SR.
Emmeretta was named after her mother Emmerett Funk. (I believe two m's in Emmeretta)/Greg Lamb 12/89. "Things I fondly remember about my mother" by LeDoan Lamb, July 1978. 1.She was a beautiful woman both in looks, manners, intelligence, and devotion to her husband and us children. 2.She was a good homemaker, clean, planned well, put up fruit and vegetables, and always cooked good meals with the food available. She was a hard worker. I remember her using the scrubbing board when washing, how she would sweat and blister her hands, which often bled. She carried a heavy burden with Twyla being cripple. Twyla had to be lifted, turned in bed, body and legs rubbed at all hours of day and night. My father helped my mother full time when he was available to ease her burden. 3.She always held positions in the church (teacher and primary president) and insisted that we attend church. She always saw to it that we had daily family prayer and our prayers at night. 4.Thus she was beautiful in action and was always admired for her long tresses of golden hair and light blue eyes. (she followed Grandpa Musig looks rather than her mother) 5.During their marriage from 1905 to 1925 (20 years) she and my father expresse their love and devotion often in front of us children. I NEVER HEARD A CROSS WORD BETWEEN THEM. 6.Just prior to my father's death he went to Salt Lake-University of Utah, to get all his college credits which he took to BYU and was found eligible to be a teacher there in the English Department. I remember him returning home and he and mother singing and dancing together because he would be able to teach at BYU that fall. Two weeks later he died of a stroke. 7.The shock to my mother was beyond description. We moved from Moroni to Wales with my Grandmother Lamb and both of them shared their sorrows together. (I was just 16, Twyla 14, and the the twins 9). Mother was left without an income. The farm land available for irrigation was very small as father had agreed with his two brothers for meadow ground where hay could be grown for the few cattle father owned and my Uncle Henryy took care of. 8.Mother contracted cold, was in bed several times during the winter and while visiting her mother in Ephriam, died on January 16, 1925. (two years after my father's death at age 44). 9. Her frail body, lack of physical care and burden was just too much for her t maintain. We four children had lost the best parents any children could have on this earth.... *also see notes for Fred Lamb #338 Emmeretta was named after her mother Emmerett Funk.
