Thomas P. Ellison was a plantation owner of Yazoo County.... He was an early settler of Deasonville, Mississippi, a pioneer. Mr. and Mrs. Ellison were members of the New Hope Methodist Episcopal church and always took an active interest in the affairs of the church. Politically he was a conspicuous character in the county, and in every direction he has been a citizen who was honored and respected. This information was taken from Memories of Mississippi. Thomas P. Ellison was the 4th child of 14 children. His father moved to Yazoo County in the fall of 1827. Dates of birth and death for the family are from the tomb stones in the family grave yard.
