Ambrose GREENWELL SR.
Ambrose Greenwell received a good education and became one of the most efficient school teachers in Leicestershire. After his marriage to Mary Barrs, who was born in Warwickshire he engaged exclusively in weaving, which he had learned as a youth. Ambrose went to America after the death of his wife Mary and lived with his son Francis in Philadelphia. Sometime later he returned to England and died at Enderly at age 77. Ambrose Greenwell was sealed to Elizabeth Brindley Hill in the Endowment House by Brigham Young on 6 Jul 1861. One of the witnesses was W. W. Phelps. Other wives: Lucy Ringrose and 3 others.
He married Mary Barrs . Mary Barrs was christened at Stretton on Dunsmore, Warwick, England 6 May 1798 daughter of Thomas Barrs and Mary Sylvester .
