                   Ambrose Greenwell received a good education and became one of the most
efficient school teachers in Leicestershire.  After his marriage to Mary Barrs,
who was born in Warwickshire he engaged exclusively in weaving, which he had
learned as a youth.

Ambrose went to America after the death of his wife Mary and lived with his
son Francis in Philadelphia.  Sometime later he returned to England and died at
Enderly at age 77.  He was known in England as a "Primitive Methodist."  This
