Caroline Cockerham's story was told in the following obituary. It was writtenby George Russell, brother of her son-in-law 4 Feb 1927:...Caroline Cockerham
was born in Noxubee Co., September 25, 1837 and was happily married to L. B.
Richards March 22, 1855; gave her heart to God, accepted Christ as her Savior,
joining New Zion Baptist Church in Choctaw Co. in 1856, having served her

surviving are Mrs. C.P.Russell whith whom she made her home,(skipping some to
get pertitent info only)She had been in feeble health for some time, but was
only confined to her bed about ten days, having a stroke of paralysis affecting
both her body and speech, at which time it was realized she could not recover.
She was a most remarkable woman, a woman of great strength of character,
indomitable courage mingled with Christian forebearance and patience. She was
true in all the relations of life, true to her God, her church, her home, and
her community. A firm believer in the doctrines of her church, she was
tolerant of other creeds, always willing and glad to assist in any good work.
