Littleton B. RICHARDS
Littleton B. Richards moved with his father's family to Choctaw Co., Miss. in 1841. He there married and served from there in Company I, 32nd Miss. Inf. in the Civil War. In 1869 the entire family completed a move to Noxubee Co., where he and his wife Caroline Sabret Cockerham both died and were buried.

Richards was a farmer, horseman, and had a water mill which he used for grinding, sawing lumber, and ginning cotton. Caroline lived almost ninety years. She is buried beside her husband in the Baptist cemetery in Mashulaville, Mississippi. Caroline Cockerham's story was told in the following obituary. It was writtenby George Russell, brother of her son-in-law 4 Feb 1927:...Caroline Cockerham was born in Noxubee Co., September 25, 1837 and was happily married to L. B. Richards March 22, 1855; gave her heart to God, accepted Christ as her Savior, joining New Zion Baptist Church in Choctaw Co. in 1856, having served her Master faithfully for more than seventy years. Her husband passed away Jan 13, 1898. They had ten children all of whom grew to manhood and womanhood. Eight surviving are Mrs. C.P.Russell whith whom she made her home,(skipping some to get pertitent info only)She had been in feeble health for some time, but was only confined to her bed about ten days, having a stroke of paralysis affecting both her body and speech, at which time it was realized she could not recover. She was a most remarkable woman, a woman of great strength of character, indomitable courage mingled with Christian forebearance and patience. She was true in all the relations of life, true to her God, her church, her home, and her community.
