Michael Rednak was injured in a mining accident. He died in the hospital. Before he died, he told his wife, Frances Povirk Rednak, to take the three children back to Yugoslavia where he owned a house with orchards, marry again because she was a beautiful woman, and care for the children. She did that and used the home as a boarding house to earn a living. John Berlisg boarded there asked her to marry him, and moved the family to Kansas where another son, Dominique, was born and died as a child in Kansas. John Berlisg was a miner and a great musician. When the mines were worked out, he moved his family to Detroit to visit friends before he settled in California. They never made it to California, as John was excellent in machines and Ford Motor Company kept him on.
He married Josepa Kas 23 Mar 1859 at 100 Skalis, Slovenia, Yugoslavia . Josepa Kas was born at Skalis, Slovenia, Yugoslavia 1 Mar 1838 daughter of Jacob Kas (Kasch) and Maria Hlisch .
