Note: an insurance man of Mt. Gilead moved to Summit Co., nr. Akron with his parents when young where they farmed abt 5 yrs. then to the neighborhood of Saville, Wayne Co. J. H. tended store there abt 4 yrs when he then returned to the farm after a season of Cleveland Medical College he returned to farming until 1870, conducting the insurance business in connection with farming. in 1866 he came to Morrow Co. and in 1870 he sold out his farming interests and moved to his present rsidence; also formed a partnership in the drug business as Briggs & Pollock, Mt. Gilead, OHio. chosen President of the Board of a railroad from Gilead Station to Mt.
