                   RESEARCH NOTE:
    There is land near Pontiac, Michigan, that is listed under the name of John Murdock.  The land is located in T2N, R10E, Sec 3, West half of the North East quadrant.  The land The records state that the land was issued to John 2 Apr 1823, one of the very earliest land patents issued in the township.  However, John died the previous August, and his son John would have been only 12 years old.  John Murdock was not found in a search of several cemetery transciptions and county histories.  Further research is necessary.
