John Page was a chior boy for the Church of England

John thought that he would have fun one day and rock (stone) some of the LDS missionaries. The Spirit came over him and he couldn't rock them. He was later baptized into the Church. (the following are some details of the above experience.) One night after chior practice they heard that the Mormon missionaries were going to preach on the street. They decided to break up the meeting by throwing rocks. They filled their pockets with rocks and John Page Sr. was to give the signal to begin throwing them. They crept closer quietly and awaited the signal. From the minute John Page Sr. heard the voice of the missionaries, he was filled with the Spirit of the Holy Ghost, and with each word, he knew he was hearing the true gospel of the Lord. "When do we start John? When do we start?, whispered the boys. He quieted them each time they asked as he listened intently, "and knew." Finally he faced his friends and said, "We are not going to throw our stones." They dispersed.

John Page Sr. was nineteen and Eleanor Esther Leader was eighteen when they fell in love. They planned a secret marriage for John Page Sr. had joined the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints against his parents wishesl. Eleanor Esther Leaders's parents were opposed to their daughter marrying a Mormon. The Page family and the Leader family were wealthy. When they learned of the planned secret marriage, they gave their consent. They also gave them a home completely furnished. Theikr first four children were born in England. And during this time he, (John Page Sr.) kconverted his wife's (Eleanor Esther Leader) two sisters and their husbands. There was much opposition to the Church in England at this time. John and Eleanor decided to come to Utah. Their families gave their their inheritance. It was two suitcases filled with gold coins. The left in the middle of the night and two missionaries carried the suitcases aboard the ship. They were on the water six weeks. John Page Sr. settle in Salt Lake City but Eleanor's two sisters went to California. Years later, in their later years the two sisters came to Salt Lake from California looking for Eleanor Esther Leader. They met but did not recognize each other at "first sight."

Granpa Pages (William Henry) story about being re baptized:

"I had the damndest 'rig' happen to me last night. I awoke with a start. It was bright as day. Anne and Emma, my two sister, appeared with arms folded and first looked at me disgustedly." "Did't you aske them waht they wanted?" (Ozemba asked him this question) "No, damn me, I knew what they wanted." "What did yhou do?" (question asked byh Ozemba) "I hid under the covers until I knew it was good and ay light." About this time Aunt Lydia went to President Smith (Joseph F. Smith) and said her brother had taken off his garments. (she didn't know he had been excommunicated until Pres. Smith told her) President Smith told her to go and tell Wm. Henry to take a good bath and put his garments back on, and said that he should never have been excommunicated. She went to Goshen and told him but he said, "no, he would do as Bishop Price had told him, to go and be rebaptized." This he did.

William Henry told Bishop Ercranbrack about the above. They went to Warm Springs in Goshen and William Henry was rebaptized. He went to church the next Sunday. He was re-confirmed. The same day he stood and bore his testimony slaying, " I have gone a long way round to come back home. I always knew it was right, but was just too 'bull-headed' to admit I had been wrong, but no one ever heard me say one word against this church."
