                   From the Progress-Enterprise, Aug. 4, 1887
       Ephraim Baker of Tancook was found dead on the shore about 500 yards
from his dwelling on Tuesday, the 26th of July.  He was kept in jail here for
some time last spring owing to insanity and is supposed to have drowned
himself while out of his mind.  He leaves a widow and two children.
