Hugh BULLOCK

                   Beginning in 1686, Richard Bullock was a titheable of Benjamin Harrison (ancestor of President Harrison).  His will, dated 25 Mar 1703, leaves his land to his son, Richard, when he turns 18 years of age.

My ancestral line of Bullocks hail from Surry-Sussex Co's of Virginia. I can trace back and verify to Jeremiah Bullock. There is data in this database almost back to Sir Hugh Bullock. I have corresponded with many researchers, and some have came to the forgone conclusion that the common ancestor of this line traces back to Hugh Bullock. I am placing this information here in hopes of someone having the "final piece" of information that will prove what I and others have come to the conclusion of. Our lines have spread from Virginia to North and South Carolina, down into Mississippi, Louisiana and Texas. Jeremiahs sons were fruitful and multiplied One chronicle of written history is Bullock Twigs and Branches, by Marie Luter Upton. This book is available through the summer from Texas A&M by interlibrary loan.

Addendum
I have come into new information that Richard Bullock, the father of Richard,
and grandfather of Jeremiah was a child taken off of the streets of London to populate Virginia. This Richard was a thithable of Benjamin Harrison II, ancestor of the two Benjamin Harrison Presidents. I'm putting both positions of ancestry out on this page in hopes of someone having information that will either prove or disprove either point of view.
