IMMIGRATION: Arrived in NY aboard the Graf Waldersee, arriving 5 May 1905. Dietrich arrived in 1905, then returned to Germany and came back in 1908 to pick up Julia and his daughter(?). Returned to live in Germany in 1912. Returned to NY on 13 Feb 1923 aboard the Hansa, visiting brother in law Nahman Jacobs in LaFargeville, NY. Must have then returned to Germany. After wife died, returned to the US on May 17th 1926 aboard the Deutschland. Naturalized by 1930. OCCUPATION: Driver for a bakery, 1910 NOTE: Father's name of August Hoffman has been associated with Dietrich, though we have not found any supporting evidence of this yet. NOTE: Pellworm was listed on the 1905 passenger list as Dietrich's last place of residence. Unknown is he was born there. Pellworm is one of the Northfriesland islands on the coast of Germany.
