This is grandma's own letter about her 50th Wedding Annivrsary Pary.
                             Our 50th Wedding Anniversary.
Our very Special Day started early in the morning with a hustle and bustle preparing fot the days activities. Beautiful floral arrangements were delivered from relatives and friends, also a beautiful decorated cake which Aleen had ordered.
At 1:30 pm we gathered at Prices Cafe for a lovely dinner hosted by Marvin. Those present were Aleen, Francis, Lee, Pat, Mike and MaryAnn Underwood, John, Alex Miller, Margaret, Marvin, Kathey, nn and Tom Miller. Louise Pierce, Leta Howard, Lloyd Funk, Eleanor and Al Funk, Ann and Nick Funk, Kate and Glenn Funk, Florence Murray (a cousin), Bessie Larson, Ella and Ed Glorfield, Bonnie and Jack Funk, Grant and Iva Wyatt, John and I. An old friend from South Gate, CA arrived in time to have desert with all.
Marvin spoke in behalf of he and Aleen, Paying a tribute to us and thanking the relatives and friends for helping to make the day so wonderful. Pat paid a nice tribute to us in behalf of all the Grand Children. John responded with our appreciation of the honor shown us for this occassion. Marvin then ask the blessing on the food. A lovely prime rib dinner was injoyed by all.
All left Prices and most of them returned home and came beck later to the Open House. Reverand and Mrs. Trobaugh came by early and them at 4:00, the relatives and friends began to come. Among the first were some old friends from CA. Clara and Harry Weank of Atascadero, Evelyn and Bunch Dodd of Pasa Robles. We were really surprised as didn't know they were coming. During the Open House we had 120 relatives and friends call.
Leta cut and served the beautiful cake and Bessie and Ella poured. The Grand daughters, Kathy, Ann and Mary Ann, kept the trays picked up and washed. Our little Grandson Tom, took care of the Guest book and really did a good job.
We recieved many beautiful gifts, cards, and a telegram and several phone calls. At about 10:00 pm after the Open House, a buffet supper was enjoyed by relatives and friends. We had baked ham, baked beans, several salads and cake, with about 46 people in all.
We wanat to give Secial Thanks to our wonderful children and families and also to John a Grandson from Anaheim, CA. who came in and surprised us.
