Obituary - Charley Miller Dies at Woodland, Washington Grandview people and especially students fo the High School were shicked Tuesday, when word was received that Charley Miller, 17-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Marvin Miller, had passed away at Woodland, Wash. For about five weeks young Miller had been at a sanitatium at Cloverdale, Washington, for the benefit of his health. A sufferer for a year from diabetes, he wrote home encouragingly to his parents, and it seemed for a time that his condition was much better. Sunday his parents received word that his condition was serious, and Mr. and Mrs. Miller with their son, Austin, left at once for Cloverdale. Arriving there the doctor in charge advised them that their son had developed an infected kidney and advised takin him at once to a clinic in Seattle. This was attempted, but on arriving at Woodland Monday evening it was decided that Charley would be unable to stand the trip. He passed away at Woodland Tuesday night. Charley was a member of the class of '27 of the Grandview High School, but was forced to quit school a year ago because of poor health. During the time he attended school he was popular with his young schoolmates and as long as his health permitted, was deeply interested in athletics, playing on the football team the last year he attended school. The funeral will be held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 from the Methodist church and interment will be in the Grandview Cemetery. INFO: Family records compiled by Mary Louise Crane FUNK;
