HEFLIN - Virginia Hathorn, 93, passed away on Monday, January 11, 2010 at Cleburne County Nursing Home. Funeral service for Mrs. Hathorn will be at 2 p.m. today, January 13, 2010, at Dryden Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ray Clevenger officiating. Burial will follow at Edgemont Cemetery with Dryden Funeral Home in charge. Pallbearers will be Lance Turner, Jerry Newton, Jay Newton, Butch Hathorn, Jerry Brown and John Earl Braden. Survivors include her daughter, Sheila (Hathorn) White, of Marietta, Ga.; two sisters, Sarah Phillips, of Rainbow City and Mirian Turner, of Heflin; two grandchildren, Butch Hathorn and Marynet Hathorn. Mrs. Hathorn, a life long resident of Cleburne County, was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church, where she taught a Sunday school class for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cliff Hathorn; her parents, Oscar and Cora Thrash; three sons, Roy, Lewis and Jerry Hathorn; a sister, Marjorie Connell and two brothers, Norman and Lofton Thrash.
