           Allen drank and made moonshine.  He caused his wife and children much
           sorrow.  His wife, Nannie Faye, told me he was on the road most of the
           time while the children were small. His daughters told me he was in
           prison for making illegal liquor.  He died in LaGrange, Georgia at an
           institution that was something between a nursing home and hospital.
